REMEMBER ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS OF YOUR WZ FILES BEFORE EDITING

This is a VERY simple method. Using Bannedstory.
LINK:
BannedStory Simulator | MapleSim

(Start the Simulator, This shouldn't Be too hard.)

Make a Picture Layer

Click the folder Icon on the Layer

Select The PNG

Click the Color Wheel While Having Your Layer Selected

Edit.
Hue is COLOR
Brightness Is How Bright the Picture is
Contrast - Edits Color Between Black and White?
Alpha is How transparent the picture is.
Saturation Is COLOR Between Really strong and Gray.

Once you've done that, open HaRepacker (download available via the library. Link in my signature)

Click, File > Load

Open Character.wz.

Find your item. Item id's at Mapletip.com (Look at the last bit in the URL)
Find the images. You should have replaced ALL the images in the
bannedstory database. If not available - click the save png button
whenever there's a pic, and manually recolor with Paint.NET / GIMP /
Photoshop.

Once you have the image in HaRepacker, Go Property>Change Property.
Browse til you select the appropriate png image, and click submit.
once all images are replaced, save over the old wz.
REMEMBER ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS
